  • Minimum qualifications:

    • A compelling portfolio demonstrating excellent 3D motion design and traditional product visualization skills.

    • A high level of attention to detail, ensuring precision and accuracy in all aspects of work.

    • Relevant software experience - Cinema 4D, Redshift/Octane, Blender, Zbrush, KeyShot, After Effects, etc.

    Core Skills:

    • Skilled in creating captivating motion around physical products with a keen sense of timing, visual composition, and transition.

    • Strong ability and knowledge of material development, texturing, animation, simulation, polygon modeling, UV mapping, and basic rigging.

    • Expertise in lighting techniques for product visualization and realistic lighting for interior scenes. Skilled in manipulating lighting tools to emphasize the product as the central focus, while avoiding dependence on basic prefab methods.

    • Management of 3D workflows, models, CAD prep, file sharing, and file conversion.

    • Bonus - experience and specialty in video editing, sound design, Houdini, DaVinci Resolve, X Particles, and 2D to 3D workflows in After Effects.

  • We’re hiring a Designer to join our West Loop studio. This role works closely with Scott Wilson, design leadership, and cross-functional teams to lead visual work across client and internal projects.

    What you do

    • Own projects end-to-end across brand, product, and communication touchpoints

    • Develop visual systems: identity, typography, color, and layout

    • Create high-quality outputs: branding, packaging, decks, campaigns, iconography, data visuals, and product graphics

    • Present work clearly to internal teams and clients

    • Contribute to MNML’s brand and how we communicate externally

    • Work fast without losing precision

    Core capabilities

    • Strong foundation in graphic design principles and execution

    • Range across styles while maintaining restraint and clarity

    • Ability to operate with incomplete inputs and define direction

    • Clear communication and collaboration across disciplines

    Responsibilities

    • Design assets across brand, packaging, campaigns, and product-related graphics

    • Support brand strategy through visual thinking

    • Align design decisions with budget and production realities

    • Participate in client conversations and presentations

    • Maintain consistency and quality across outputs

    Qualifications

    • Expert in Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)

    • Experience in identity design, systems thinking, and design strategy

    • Comfortable in fast-paced, high-output environments

    Nice to have

    • Illustration, photography, or motion (After Effects or similar)

    • UX/UI experience for web or mobile

    • Front-end familiarity (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)

    • Strong presentation skills (Keynote or similar)

    • Experience working alongside product or industrial design teams

    Emerging tools

    • Actively uses AI and emerging tools to accelerate concepting, production, and iteration

    • Understands where automation improves output and where craft still matters

    • Able to integrate new workflows without compromising quality

  • Minimum qualifications:

    • At least 6 years of experience working in a professional design setting.

    • A strong portfolio demonstrating depth across the design process, research, concept development, refinement, and production-aware execution.

    • Advanced 3D modeling skills in Rhino or SolidWorks (complex surfacing and controlled geometry required).
      Strong sketching skills

    • Strong Visualization skills using KeyShot, C4D, or Blender

    • Experience in preparing and delivering client presentations.

    • Working knowledge of manufacturing processes.

    • Experience bringing products through multiple different phases of development, from early stages of research to ideation to detailed collaboration with engineers.

    • Ability to manage project timelines and meet deadlines with minimal oversight.

    Core Responsibilities

    • Lead or co-lead projects under the direction of a Lead Designer or Director.

    • Translate design strategy into strong, executable concepts.

    • Develop multiple thoughtful design directions before converging.

    • Collaborate closely with engineering to resolve ergonomic and mechanical challenges.

    • Prepare high-quality presentation materials and tell compelling design stories.

    • Build and test prototypes through iterative 3D printing and hands-on mockups.

    • Contribute meaningfully in critiques and internal reviews.

    • Support junior designers through example and constructive feedback.

    What You’ll Do

    • Design, prototype, and validate mechanical systems across a diverse range of products.

    • Develop testing protocols and systems to validate designs from early-stage concepting to production.

    • Lead engineering efforts for our internal wellness tech venture, Airea, supporting its FDA Class II submission and product launch.

    • Collaborate with industrial designers, electrical engineers, and external partners to bring concepts to life.

    • Own regulatory documentation and compliance for medical and consumer products.

    • Optimize mechanical solutions for manufacturing, cost, and user experience.

    • Stay ahead of material innovations, manufacturing techniques, and emerging technologies to inform our projects.


    What We’re Looking For

    • 5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering across multiple industries and product types.

    • Expertise in CAD (SolidWorks) and hands-on prototyping.

    • Experience with regulatory approvals and documentation (medical, consumer, or industrial).

    • Ability to develop reliable test methods and iterate based on data-driven insights.

    • Detail-oriented, problem-solving mindset with a strong grasp of physics and mechanical principles.

    • A self-starter comfortable in a fast-paced, high-output environment.

    • Passion for working on category-defining innovations.
